We got our tax-exempt status. We are ready to go. In particular, I want this story to reach the 40% of young people in our country who are “nones” and nudge them to think about what truly gives life purpose and meaning. With the clock ticking, we need to raise the funds for phase one by the end of the year. Will you join us?

After looking at multiple options, we have decided to go the non-profit route. Our mission is to leverage the power of cinema and other forms of media to ignite profound change through captivating stories that entertain, engage, and inspire. Paperwork has been filed. Now we wait…

Dozens of conversations, a gathering of dreamers, teams formed in India and the US, two great conversations with producers in California. Still figuring out the best way to fund this. I am reminded of this quote by filmmaker Orson Welles - read it a long time ago, but fully understanding the meaning of it now!

Wow! A whirlwind of location scouting in India. First, so grateful for the team that has coalesced around this movie. Second, we saw dozens of locations and settled most of them in and around Kolkata. Third, there is such a sense of sacredness around this - hmm.

Disruptive Compassion
Incredible conversation with a dear old friend. I first met Hal Donaldson in India in the early nineties. Hal, another dear friend, Solomon Wang, and I hung out for two weeks or so. That trip so broke Hal’s heart that he came to the United States and started Convoy of Hope. I read his book, Disruptive Compassion, which gave shape to the story of the movie. I spoke to Hal and he very graciously is allowing me to use his book in the movie. Truly grateful to have the support and encouragement of this great man and friend in this journey!
